Product Review: The Face Shop Professional Make-Up Base (Green)

I'm Lucie - FINALLY making my debut on our blog! :)  Unlike Sara and Raquelle, I've only recently got into reading and watching beauty blogs and videos and I'm really excited about our super blog!

I decided to review The FaceShop's Professional Make-Up Base, basically foundation primer. But before I start the review I thought I'd give a short background of The FaceShop.

Many of you probably haven't heard of The FaceShop. The FaceShop is a Korean brand selling their products throughout the Pacific and the Asia region.

It's a company that prides itself on using all natural ingredients, with no harsh chemicals and being affordable.

When I found out that The FaceShop uses all natural ingredients for their products, I liked the company a bit more. I'm a sucker for organic and environmentally conscious companies/products. (I'm a bit of a Greenie :P)

Personally, I think it's important to know the background of companies as many cosmetic companies have come under fire in the past decade for exploitative labour and involvement in sweatshops and causing environmental degradation in the Third World. They are rarely ever publicised, but I thought I'd make an effort and try to write about environmentally friendly cosmetic companies to give you an insight and show you what options are available to you in the beauty market to make sure the products you use are ethical and are taking social responsibility for their actions in this world (regarding the environment).

A company's reputation means quite a bit to me, but being a poor student, it's not always easy or affordable to only buy ethical products.

SO, I'm going to make it my responsibility to search and find affordable Organic and ethical companies and products for you! Watch this space for more Greenie reviews :P

--> I fell in LOVE with this foundation primer!

It works so well, especially for me as I have combination skin (Oily and Dry) and when I wear foundation, particularly out clubbing, I get pretty sweaty and my nose becomes oily which makes my make up rub off easily :(

But FaceShop's Professional Make-Up Base works a treat! It not only keeps your foundation intact ALL DAY, transfer-resistant and keeps oil and sweat prone areas dry. Perhaps because it's oil free! :)

It's doesn't make your skin feel clogged or anything like that, and doesn't feel heavy on your face. With it's green colour, it can also be used to fix up uneven skin tones.

Although, the only trouble I've had with it is when my skin is quite dry, it tends to bring out the dryness and make small flakes on the face visible. So if your skin is dry, I recommend using a small amount of moisturiser prior to applying the Make-Up Base, but only use the moisturiser lightly!
